Lovely & Healthy is featured in two articles, the first appearing alongside an interview with Dame Carol Black, about her review entitled 'Working for a Healthier Tomorrow'. "Staff at clinical technology company Clinphone have proved you do not need sun or even waves to surf. They took an urban surfing class to go through the motions of surfing for a full body workout. Their surfing was on a printed towel. Mat Baker, of Clinphone says it was not as easy as it looks. Clinphone are in second place in the Evening Post's Shape up Notts Workplace Challenge - to find the fittest workplace in Notts, with two £2,500 prizes. August 2008, Urban Surf is launched nationwide by Lovely and Healthy

Surfing is a fashionable and fun sport, which is a great workout for the whole body. However, traditionally it was only available to those privilaged few with access to the sea waves. Until now!

Lovely and Healthy has launched a brand new exercise class, which aims to bring surfing into the office, school and home. Combining a range of moves and exercises needed in traditional surfing, Urban Surf is a great way to stay in shape, reduce stress and have fun.

Working with the Ollypop towel, we teach from the basic 'pop-up' (jumping from your stomach to standing) through to advanced level simulations of the waves.Accompanied by a summer soundtrack, you'll be able to hear the waves!

Feedback from our first bookings have been 100% positive with all attendees at Clinphone group saying they would return to similar exercise classes, and recommend them to a friend.

March 2008, Dame Carol Black: Working for a healthier tomorrow.

Dame Carol Black's review of the health of Britain's working age population entitled 'Working for a healthier tomorrow' is the first ever review of its kind. The document was presented to the Secretaries of State for Health and for Work and Pensions, Alan Johnson and James Purnell on 17th March 2008 and highlighted topics such as how to improve health and wellbeing in the workplace and the scale of the sickness absence problem in Britain recently referred to in the media as 'sick-note Britain'.
