Our Policies

Lovely & Healthy employ exercise instructors who are fully qualified and insured and who are registered with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).

Click here to visit the REPs website.

The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) has been set up to help safeguard and to promote the health and interests of people who are using the services of exercise and fitness instructors, teachers and trainers.

The Register uses a process of self-regulation that recognises industry-based qualifications, practical competency, and requires exercise professionals to work within a Code of Ethical Practice.

Members of the Register are given a card and registration certificate to prove their qualification and membership. Also known as the Exercise Register it operates in the UK and across the world to recognise personal achievement and competencies of qualified exercise professionals.

The Register of Exercise Professionals Mission Statement reads as follows:

"To ensure that all exercise professionals are suitably knowledgeable and qualified to help safeguard and to promote the health and interests of the people who use their services."

Entry to the directory of names which forms the Register of Exercise Professionals in the UK is determined by assessing an application for membership against the listing of qualifications which are approved by Government and which sit currently on the National Qualifications Framework. In future these will be based on emerging Qualification Credit Frameworks established for the Home Nations. The UK has developed an extensive range of National Standards which define the knowledge, skills and competencies that exercise professionals require to practice safely and effectively and the Register uses these to determine the level of entry and any other additional categories of registration.

At the discretion of the Registrar entry to the Register may be given with provisional status which allows 12 months for that member to 'convert' to full membership.

Qualifications are delivered by REPs approved training providers which are usually certified by an awarding body. It is also possible to gain entry to the Register through related exercise and fitness higher education awards.

The registration fee is an annual payment and maintenance on the register requires an ongoing adherence to the Code of Ethical Practice, the undertaking of continuing professional development (CPD) and having adequate public liability insurance.
