Employee Health and Wellbeing Day (1st November 2007 and 18th April 2008)

After the success of the 1st Sandwell Homes Employee Health and Wellbeing Day on 1st November 2007, Lovely & Healthy was delighted to be contracted to deliver a second event, which took place on Friday 18th April 2008. The event was organised by the Sandwell Homes Health and Safety Working Group consisting of HR representatives, Trade Unions and Managers in partnership with Lovely & Healthy. The theme of the event in April 2008 was general health and wellbeing, with the focus on muscular skeletal issues, ways to combat stress with relaxation techniques, and education and advice for weight management.

As well as offering advice, guidance, therapies and treatments on Friday 18th April, during the week commencing Monday 14th April there were various healthy options for employees to chose. These included health walks led by members of the Sandwell Homes Executive Management Team, health screening at local offices, and fruit deliveries.

A range of holistic therapies were provided for employees to try, and Lovely & Healthy managed a very busy booking line!

Dairy Crest National Distribution Centre
Health and Safety Week (23rd-26th October 2006 and 22nd-26th October 2007)

As part of a Dairy Crest initiative to play an active role in promoting Health & Safety across each of the Dairy Crest sites, Health & Safety Managers were asked to chose a theme that would meet the criteria of helping to motivate employees in addition to raising awareness of Health & Safety issues in the workplace.

Will Douglas, Health & Safety Manager for Dairy Crest National Distribution Centre based at Bermuda Park in Nuneaton, chose to focus his strategy on health promotion and lifestyle factors such as healthy eating, exercise and wellbeing.

Lovely & Healthy were employed to deliver the initiative which included: Health screening, exercise taster sessions, health promotion materials, nutrition workshops, and competitions.

Jackie Kent from the Finance Department wrote on her feedback form "This week has really given me a kick-start towards making my lifestyle a bit healthier; it definately makes things a bit easier having support from the people you work with and also the managers as we spend such a lot of time at work."
